Zeh Informational Update: Family Newsletter 9/18/26

Hello Zeh Families,

This Thursday, we will have our PTO Back to School Picnic from 5:30 to 7:00. All families are invited to attend. Bring your own dinner or order pizza from the PTO. It is a fun family evening, and we hope to see you there!

This Friday is our first Bike & Walk to School Day of the year. We dedicate one day each month to encourage students and families to ride their bikes or walk to school. Some families even coordinate together and come as a group. I will be outside managing the crosswalk on these days to help keep everyone safe. Students should stop at the table outside the front entrance to sign their names and receive a small token for their backpacks. 

I am looking for a few volunteers to serve on our Zeh School Council. The group will meet four times throughout the year and provide feedback on school goals, initiatives, and priorities. Our first meeting will be on Monday, October 19 at 1:30. If you are interested in serving on the School Council, please send me an email by Friday, September 25.

Finally, Applefest weekend will be here soon! Each year, a group of Zeh students, families, and staff walk together in the parade with our Zeh School banner, our Zebra mascot, and lots of candy for students to throw. The parade will be on Saturday, September 26th at 12:00. If you would like to walk with Zeh, we will meet at Lincoln Street School at 11:15. The parade starts there, continues down Main Street, and ends at the Northborough Historical Society.

• PTO Meeting: Thank you to all the parents who joined us for our first PTO meeting. We truly appreciate your time, ideas and support. Your involvement  makes a big difference for our students and school community. We look forward to seeing you at our upcoming meetings as we continue to work together. The PTO would like to welcome all PreK families as well. • Back to School Picnic (9/24): Join us for our annual family picnic on Thursday, September 24, from 5:30-7:00pm on the field (or indoors if it rains). Families can pre-order pizza from Northborough House of Pizza in advance. The deadline for pre-orders is 9/21.

• Walk/Bike to School (9/25): One of our most popular Zeh traditions! Plan to arrive at school between 8:10-8:25am, and make sure to stop at the PTO table to sign a poster and pick up a little charm. See you there!

• Applefest Parade (9/26): Parents and students can join a group from ZEH marching in the town’s Applefest Parade. Staging will be at 11:15am at Lincoln Street Elementary.

• Picture Day (9/29): Say cheese! A portion of picture purchases goes back to support PTO programs and activities. Thank you for supporting our school! Please look out for more details on placing your online picture orders.

• Fun Run (10/9): Save the date! This year’s Fun Run will be held in the afternoon on Friday 10/9. Grades 3-5 will start at 1:35pm and Grades PreK-2 will start at 2:05pm. The Fun Run is one of the PTO’s biggest fundraisers. Look out for details on how you can help raise money and come cheer on your runner(s)!
