Principal's Message

Dear Zeh Families,

It’s Applefest weekend in Northborough! The weather looks great for the parade tomorrow and I’m looking forward to walking together as a school. Line up begins on Lincoln Street near the school at 11:15 and the parade begins at 12:00. You can park at Melican Middle School or Lincoln Street School and it’s just a short walk to the gathering point. Look for group 11. Don’t forget to wear your Zeh spirit wear!.

A reminder that our school day begins at 8:30. The bell rings at 8:25, which is when students begin entering the school. If you arrive after 8:25, please come to the front entrance. Students arriving after 8:30 need to be signed in by an adult and are marked tardy.

We are entering a stretch in the school year where four of the next five weeks have a day off. Please make sure to look at the upcoming dates so you know when we don’t have school. The first one is this upcoming Tuesday, September 23rd for Rosh Hashanah.

As always, please reach out if you have any questions or concerns. Have a wonderful weekend!

Mr. Bell

Details:

  • PTO Meeting: Thank you to all the parents who joined us for our first PTO meeting—we truly appreciate your time, ideas, and support. Your involvement helps make a big difference for our students and school community. We look forward to seeing you at our upcoming meetings as we continue working together!  Here is a link to the meeting minutes.  Want to get involved but can’t make the meeting? Email us!

  • Walk/Bike to School: A big thank you to everyone who joined us for our first Walk/Bike to School Day! The weather was absolutely perfect, and it was wonderful to see so many families participating together. Thank you also to our 5th grade volunteers who made the event run smoothly. Your energy and enthusiasm made the event a great success—we can’t wait for the next one!  See you there!

  • Applefest Parade (9/20): We invite parents and students to join a group from Zeh marching in the town’s Applefest Parade tomorrow (9/20).  Staging will be at 11:00am at Lincoln Street Elementary. Note that access to Lincoln School will be restricted shortly after 11:00 am. Please park at the Melican Middle School and walk on over. The parade route starts at Lincoln School and ends in front of the Northborough Historical Society in downtown Northborough.  Kids participating in the parade will have the opportunity to throw candy at spectators as they walk through the parade.

  • Picture Day (9/25):  Say cheese!  A portion of picture purchases goes back to support PTO programs and activities—thank you for supporting our school!  Please look out for more details on placing your online picture orders.

  • Back to School Picnic (9/25): Join us for our annual family picnic on Thursday, September 25, from 5:30–7:00 pm on the field (or indoors if it rains). Families can pre-order  pizza from Northborough House of Pizza in advance. The deadline for pre-orders is 9/22. Representatives from the Little Gym of Westborough will be on-site with parachutes, hula hoops, and mats for fun, kid-friendly activities. Plus, the Uhlman’s Ice Cream Truck will stop by so families can purchase a sweet treat to top off the evening.

  • Save the Date for the Fun Run (10/10): This year’s Fun Run will take place on Friday afternoon, October 10 (heading into Columbus Day weekend). Grades 3–5 will run at 1:30 pm, followed by Grades K–2 at 2:00 pm. The Fun Run is one of the PTO’s largest fundraisers, making it possible to fully fund field trips for every grade, provide engaging school-wide enrichment activities, and invest in meaningful school improvements. Our goal this year is $10,000. Proceeds from the fun run will go toward upgrading the school’s audio/visual projection equipment and adding a new gaga pit to the playground—enhancements that benefit all of our students. We will send out details on the Fun Run next week.
